Whenever we are thinking up ideas for ice sculptures and ice carvings for events such as the ice bar we have created at Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland for the past four years, we like to add an interactive element, such as being able to sit in it and pose and have your photograph taken or grab a selfie.
They make really fun photo opportunities and visitors to the various events we work at love to share them online.
As we were scratching our heads for an idea for the 2019 ice bar, we had a sudden brain wave, what better interactive ice sculpture idea for a bar than an air hockey table – made of ice??!! Air hockey tables are popular in bars and pubs or at events with visitors of all ages. Making them out of ice and lighting them gives them a cool edge and makes them stand out, as well as harking back to the origins of the table as a way for ice hockey fans to enjoy themselves and challenge their friends over an ice cold drink.

We thought it was such a unique idea we made one for our ice sculptor in training, Florence’s, 5th birthday party. We had to give them a step to reach but Florence and all her friends had a great time.
We can make an ice air hockey table for any venue, event or bar, it’s a fun way of engaging your audience, you could even have several and have lots of games going on at once or host an ice air hockey tournament to draw people in!
